Dr Mihretab Melesse Salasibew

Director of Evidence

Dr Mihretab Melesse Salasibew leads the Centre for Homelessness Impact’s evidence function, advancing rigorous research, measurement and data-driven policy to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurrent.

An epidemiologist by training, he brings extensive experience in impact evaluation, evidence synthesis and applied research from global public health and social development settings.

Prior to joining CHI, Mihretab led major evaluation portfolios across Africa and Asia, working closely with governments, funders and partners to strengthen evidence use in policy and programme design. He is committed to translating high-quality research into practical insights that improve outcomes for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Mihretab holds a PhD in Epidemiology and has over 25 publications on behaviour change, health systems and evidence-based practice. He is passionate about equitable data, capacity building, and using evidence to drive system-level change.
