Head of Knowledge Implementation

IN A NUTSHELL

As the Head of Knowledge Implementation, you will spearhead our efforts in evidence implementation and practice. Collaborating with our Programmes and Evidence Teams, you will drive our efforts to build the capacity of practitioners and policymakers working in homelessness to use evidence to create impact.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of homelessness, commitment to using evidence in practice, and excellent relationship-building skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape an organisation dedicated to using evidence to end homelessness for good.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Leadership in Implementation Strategy: Lead the development of the Centre's unique approach to implementing evidence-based policy and practice. Use multidisciplinary methodologies such as person-centred design and implementation science to drive impact.
  2. Engagement with Practitioners and People with Lived Experience: Collaborate with practitioners and people with lived experience to understand and map homelessness practices and experiences, informing our evidence generation agenda and enhancing practitioner effectiveness and service user experiences.
  3. Policy Influence: Work closely with our Evidence and Data, Comms, and Programmes Teams, to support the integration of evidence and data into homelessness policy-making at local and national levels across the UK.
  4. Development and Partnerships: Contribute to development and partnership efforts, collaborating with the Head of Development and CEO to engage potential funders and shape the Centre's growth trajectory.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Confidently engage with senior leaders and stakeholders at local and national levels, fostering relationships and advocating for evidence-based approaches.
  6. Team Management: Manage our implementation team, fostering a self-directed and flexible work environment conducive to impactful outcomes.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • In-depth knowledge of homelessness and housing, and/or related sectors.
  • Proven experience in programme development and implementation, including managing a team, external contractors and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of cultivating relationships with local authorities, government bodies, charities, and foundations.
  • Dynamic and adaptable, with the ability to get the best of a small team.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with a passion for evidence-based approaches and diversity in the workplace.

Bonus

  • Experience of securing and managing public funding.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

Status: Permanent, full-time role

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000, depending on experience

Location: Flexible, with remote option
