COVID-19 Talk series: No ordinary emergency with Linda Gibbs

The Centre for Homelessness Impact is hosting a series of online talks on COVID-19 - aiming to support communities around the UK to help people who are homeless or at risk to stay safe and healthy during the COVID-19 outbreak.

On Wednesday 8 April at 3pm, Dr Lígia Teixeira talks to Linda Gibbs, Principal for Social Services at Bloomberg Associates.

Linda has spearheaded major initiatives on poverty alleviation, juvenile justice reform and obesity reduction. She served as Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services for New York City from 2005 to 2013. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Mayor, Gibbs was Commissioner of the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS).

We'll explore her experience, insight and current work in relation to tackling homelessness, specifically in light of the current coronavirus outbreak, and what we can learn from cities outside of the UK dealing with the pandemic.

You can register to attend this talk here. If you’re not able to make it, we’ll be posting recordings of all our talks on our COVID-19 resource hub.
