We believe that evidence informed policy-making and practice can, and does, improve the lives of people affected by homelessness. The Centre was created in 2018 to be an independent champion of using rigorous evidence to underpin policies and programmes that aim to tackle or prevent homelessness.

For the past eighteen months we have been hosted by our founding partners at Crisis and GHN and supported and guided by a Shadow Board, but last month the Centre celebrated becoming a fully independent charity and company.

We are looking for up to three members of our Board of Trustees who can help us steer the Centre in the right direction to achieve its ambitious goals and maximise the impact of its work. We ask that any candidates are passionate about the value of rigorous evidence, doing the most good possible with limited resources and committed to improving services for people affected by homelessness or at risk.

A recruiting pack including background information, job description, person specification and application details is available to download above. If you would like an informal discussion with the Chair, Andrew Hudson, please contact him via

The closing date for these applications is midday on Friday 24 May 2019. Interviews will take place in London on the 3rd or 7th of June.

We are committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-selection checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. The role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure.

To apply in confidence to join our Board of Trustees please email, following the instructions in the recruitment pack.

General information

Who we are

We’re a social startup in the homelessness sector. Our mission is to end homelessness by helping charities, local authorities and policy-makers understand which programmes and strategies work best. We’re big believers in the power of evidence and human-centred design when it comes to solving complex social problems like homelessness – and we’re looking to build a small, agile team to deliver content, training and platforms that make a real difference to those affected, as well as people working towards a future without homelessness.

Joining a relatively small team you’ll be a big part of shaping the way we work, collaborate and deliver impact. You’ll also have a great opportunity to assert your aesthetic and personality on the centre and its work in a meaningful way.

Our values

We value optimism, diversity, collaboration, sense of ownership, the ability to embrace ambiguity, a talk-less-do-more attitude, learning from failure, and making each other successful. If you identify with our values and want to help us end homelessness, we’d love to have you in. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, and particularly welcome applications from people with lived experiences of homelessness.

How to apply

Read our job descriptions above and apply by emailing a cover letter and CV to and reference the job title.

In your cover letter, please address the points outlined in the person specification section of the role you are interested in.

For any queries you can email and a member of the team will respond.
