What does the Centre do?
We champion the creation and use of evidence to improve how homelessness is tackled across the country. See our Mission for more details.
Can I get funding for my work?
Once the centre is up and running from spring 2018 we will be commissioning reviews and impact projects. To be kept up to date, you can sign up to our newsletter here.
Who's behind the initiative?
The new centre is being created by Crisis and Glasgow Homelessness Network (GHN). This follows the publication in January 2017 of the feasibility study, Ending Homelessness Faster by Focusing on What Works.
Where does your money come from?
The Centre is funded by the philanthropist Humphrey Battcock. You can find out more about Humphrey here.
I work at an organisation which has similar aims to yours, can we collaborate?
We are always interested to hear from others who are working in this space. Please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org with details on your organisation and your work and we will be in touch.
Are you another research organisation?
The centre that we’re creating is different from other evidence institutions in a number of important ways. Firstly, our focus will be on mobilising evidence. We will engage with people working in and around the homelessness sector to define the most urgent problems and set priorities and help them apply evidence in practice. We will do this by providing a backbone for the evidence ecosystem, including a centralised infrastructure (e.g. a new outcomes and impact framework) and resources/tools for training and capacity-building.
I’m currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, can you help me?
No, unfortunately we are unable to provide advice to you. Instead you could contact one of the following:
Shelter helpline on 0808 800 4444
Citizens Advice - see their website for options
Samaritans - available 24/7 on 116 123. More information here.
