Citadel: Support from community volunteers

This project will test the impact of community volunteers to support people who have a history of rough sleeping and homelessness or are at risk of homelessness to find or sustain their tenancies.

Opening date for applications: 22nd April 2024

Closing date for applications: 17th May 2024

How we are doing it

We will bring to England the Citadel’s model developed in Wales to establish, train and mobilise volunteers to complement the efforts of case workers with the aim of improving access to community services, expanding social connections, improving the sense of belonging and reducing loneliness. We expect to have results from the trial in autumn 2025.

Ways to get involved

We are looking for up to ten Local Authorities to make around 580 referrals of whom half will receive support from Citadel volunteers recruited by Housing Justice.
