This project will evaluate offering short-term accommodation in an area and a supported, voluntary reconnection to an area where the individual has a local connection or an area where they could obtain settled accommodation.

How we are doing it

The project will expand accommodation options alongside additional support for people sleeping rough with no local connection in participating areas. We will compare outcomes for individuals who receive such assistance to help build an evidence base of what works to alleviate rough sleeping and other forms of homelessness. We expect to have interim findings from the trial from autumn 2025.

Ways to get involved

We are looking for four Local Authorities to take part in this project that do not currently offer accommodation or reconnection services for people with no local connection.
